On November 19, an original event took place on the Circuit Paul Ricard track : the auction of the Guikas Collection by RM Sotheby’s. An ideal setting for this sale of vintage and competition cars which exceeded 30 million euros.
Among the pieces from Jean Guikas' private collection, the Alpine Renault A442, which won at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1978, sold for 2,255,000 euros, or a Prost Peugeot AP03 Formula 1 from 1999 driven by Olivier Panis during the Monaco Grand Prix the same year.
After the sale, a Ferrari trio won. First, a 2005 Ferrari 575 GTC powered by a V12 engine and a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet were sold respectively for 2,648,750 and 4,420,625 euros. The highlight of the show, the 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione from 1955, bodied by Pininfarina in just 3 units and restored by Ferrari in 1977, sold for 6,192,500 euros.
These incredible models were on exhibition to the public on Thursday in the box and the pit lane of the Circuit Paul Ricard, to the delight of fans of competition and vintage cars.
